Photography Workshops in Utah & Beyond

Below are a few Featured Workshops I offer.  These are different than you'll find elsewhere and aim to provide you an adventure, enhanced 1:1 learning opportunities and some unique offerings.

Head over to my Photography Workshops and Tours site to learn more.

Let's Go Explore!

A Day with the Artist Photography Workshop

A little different than your normal workshop.  Join me in Southern Utah and shoot alongside me as I would do in my own work.  We'll explore, hike, chase light and have ZERO itinerary.  This is a rare chance to learn and work WITH a photographer in the field and is absolutely NOT a workshop or tour.  Instruction will be provided during the day but please note we will be exploring and shooting as I would do, not adhering to an itinerary of any sort.

Location: Customized to your location, please contact me to get started.

Duration: All Day. Sunrise - Sunset with meal breaks.  Bring snacks and water though, we're photographing not eating at normal times.

Pricing: $700/Day - Includes all transportation.  Meals, lodging not included.

Requirements: Must be able to hike comfortably for up to 4 miles while carrying your own gear.   Terrain may be rugged but never technical.  Walking on rocks, sandstone, through water, and trails are normal.  Basically, be able to explore no matter where we go.

Seasons: All 4 Seasons.

Why this Experience:  We'll access areas you didn't know existed, we'll explore more than any other workshop, you'll have 1:1 learning and a unique opportunity to go beyond any workshop you've ever been on.  You'll actually get to go out and explore and practice photography as Nature Photographers do!

Art of Seeing: Composition & Observation 1-Day   Workshop

Date: Upon Request

St. George & Greater Zion Area

Why This Workshop:  Practicing observation skills and thoughtful compositions are so important in Nature Photography.  You'll learn new ways to look at the landscape, new composition techniques and tips for creating compositions in the field.  This 1 day workshop is more valuable to a learning photographer than a year on YouTube.

Dates: Upon Request

Location:  St. George to Zion National Park is considered the Greater Zion area and is home to some of the wildest landscapes in the Desert Southwest.  Perfect for those passing through or at the start of their trip through Utah.

Palouse Workshop 2023

WEEK 1: MAY 14-18, 2023

WEEK 2: MAY 21-25, 2023

WEEK 3: JUNE 11-15, 2023

Why This Workshop:  This is NOT a tour of known locations in the Palouse. This field workshop is geared towards finding unique images, exploring backroads, discovering new scenes and photography instruction. All skill levels welcomed.  Late May/Early June is the best weather and conditions in the Palouse.  No post-processing sessions with this workshop because you will be tired, there simply isn't time if we're focused on shooting.

Dates: Late May & Early June.   Small Group Workshop (4 people max) not a large group like the others.
